A look at the translation differences between the Anointed Standard Translation of the New Testament and the King James Version Bible.

1 Timothy 1.2
KJV version:
Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.

Anointed Standard Translation:
To Timothy, a racially pure child in the persuasion, Favor, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Jesus Anointed our Master.

Now why is AST different? Lets look at the translations from the Greek:
‘racially pure ‘ is translated from gnesios ( γνήσιος ) which is defined by Scott & Liddell as : belonging to the true race, legitimate, opp. nothos, genuine, true, lawful, true, to have a noble mind. Nothos (νόθος) defined as : a bastard, base born, any child born of a foreign woman, spurious, counterfeit, adulterated.

KJV version: Titus 1.4 To Titus mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.

AST version:To Titus, a racially pure child according to the common persuasion, favor and peace, from God the Father and the Master Jesus the Anointed, our Savior.
gnesios ( γνήσιος ) is again translated as racially pure. KJV adds mercy here but the oldest manuscripts do not contain that word here, added near the 5th century.

Hebrews 7.26
KJV : For such a high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

AST: For such a High Priest was appropriate for us: sacred, good in kind and pure, nonmongrelized, separated from failures, and becoming higher than the heavens.

nonmongrelized is translated for amiantos (ἀμίαντος ) defined by Scott & Liddell as : undefiled, pure.
good in kind is translated for agathon ( ἀγαθός) defined as: good in its kind.
